I just can't help it. Everytime  I get a good look at this Mountain, we have to take a picture. It's hard for me to imagaine the earth was created by a "big bang" when I see a mtn like this. It helps me realize how much the Savior loved us when he created this world.
We are starting to see little signs of spring. the grass is green and lots of trees are starting to bloom. that means that general conference is on its way and also that life is being renewed. What a great time of year. We are getting to know more and more people. Being a missionary is like having a full time home teaching route. There is always people who need to be visited and service that needs doing . Lots of members are doing yard work so we have team teaming up with the "younger " missionaries to help out. Our truck ( in background) is learning the way to the dump. Elder Gosny. walking towards us, is a large strong elder from Australia. He is dedicated and loves to do service. Elder DeVictoria ( in the gray sweatshirt) is from Hawaii. He was inactive until 3-4 months before he left on his mission. They are wonderful to work with.

We also have lots of rest homes, retirement homes etc. They are really great because the people are almost always there and very glad to see us.We love visiting some of the older members that live in these places. They have great stories to tell and make us feel welcome.
Did I mwnton we have lots of apartment buildings. Soometimes they seem endless. Whoever numbered them was very creative and since people move a lot we spend a lot time knocking on the wrong doors.
This is Ellen. She is very bossy, she thinks she knows everything and at times is quite rude. She interupts a lot and likes things done her way. Without her though we would be completely lost. She has made this urban mission doable. We just put in the address and she gets us there. She doesn't adjust for rush hour or worry much about making left turns across very busy streets but she does know where we need to go.
As we turn left out of our driveway we get this view of the Bay. That's Lummi Bay in the foreground and Bellingham Bay in the background. this view helps us keep everything in perspective. We know this is the right place for us to be. We love our mission and are excited and pleased to be serving the Lord here in Bellingham
Our mission has a lot of urban area in it. Shopping malls, restaurants etc. are very commonplace. It is quite different from Bonners Ferry
Our ward is full of apartment houses. There seems to be hundreds of them. Most of our work is in the apartment houses. Lots of people there are just getting started of are struggling to hang on. There are lots of good people wherever we look.
